Kathryn VanArragon and Emma Davies each shined during the second round, staying at par or below.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn – The St. Thomas Women's Golf team continued their stretch of red-hot golf with another first place round of play today at the Minneapolis Golf Club for the three-team Tommie Invite.

The Tommies started the day in first place but got off to a slow start in the second round. Isabelle Lynch shot a 79 (+7) and Niki Reineke shot a 78 (+6), each sliding down the leaderboard to fifth and 11th respectively. They were picked up by the spectacular play of teammates Emma Davies 72 (E) and Kathryn VanArragon 71 (-1).

VanArragon carded the best round of the day as one of only two golfers to finish the round under par. She was clutch down the stretch with four birdies and a par on her last five holes. The freshman turned around a frustrating front nine with one of the best back nines of her young career.

Emma Davies rose three places on the leaderboard after her even par performance during day two. She played bogey-free golf on the back nine and made it in four on the par five of hole number 12.

Overall, the Toms find themselves in first place of three teams at 603 (+27) with a one-stroke lead over the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State. North Dakota is in third, 33 strokes behind the Purple.

Head Coach Katie Hanneman on her team's continued success
"I am really excited for the fact that we did finish so strong today. I think sometimes in this game a rough start can turn into a rough day, but we did a great job of preventing that today. Those four birdies down the stretch by Kathryn was a huge boost going into tomorrow. I am so proud of them."
