Women's Golf in team lead after day one of Tommie Invite; VanArragon leads the pack

Kathryn VanArragon led the charge for the Tommies as she sits atop the leaderboard after the first round.
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- St. Thomas didn't waste any time on Tuesday, as they lead both North Dakota and South Dakota State after the first round of action. The Tommies had three golfers finish in the top five after day one and sit five strokes ahead of second place SDSU heading into day two.
Kathryn VanArragon finished the opening around atop the individual leaderboard, concluding her first 18 holes with a 72 (E). She was not the only strong performer for the Tommies on Tuesday. Isabelle Lynch ended her day at a 74 (+2) and sits in 4th place while Emma Davies shot a 76 (+4), good for a top-five finish with 36 holes still to play.
Niki Reineke (81 +9), Courtney Wedin (81 +9), and Caroline Monty 86 (+14) rounded out the Tommie lineup, as all six golfers for the Tommies laid a strong foundation for the rest of the tournament.
Lauren Contreras, Mallory Belka, Kate Foley, Laila Franklin, and Claudia Kim all competed as independents at the Tommies' home meet.
