Matthew Raab had a top-five finish in the three-team competition
Newcomers help Men's Golf in second-place finish

Oxbow, N.D. - Senior Matthew Raab shot a one-under-par 71 on Wednesday to share fifth place individually in a field of 26 players and lead Tommie Men's Golf to second place out of three teams at the season-opening North Dakota State Invite.
The two-day, 36-hole event concluded with 18 holes today. It's the first of four fall tournaments for the Tommies and Coach Matt Rachey.
NDSU had the top four individuals and won by 31 strokes at 557. St. Thomas (588) topped North Dakota (603) for second place.
Raab's score of 71 included three birdies, and was the tournament's fourth-best round on Wednesday. He opened with a 73 on Tuesday and closed the event at even-par 144.
Freshman Owen Rexing finished seventh at 145 after a 73 on Wednesday.
Junior transfer Glavine Schugel tied for ninth place at 149 with rounds of 72-77. Junior Matthew Armstrong tied for 11th at 150 after shooting 74-76.
Junior transfer Will Frazier (77-74) and freshman Charlie Nasby (73-78) tied for 14th place at 151 for the Tommies while playing as individuals.
Next Up
St. Thomas plays Sept. 26-27 at Drake's 36-hole Zach Johnson Invite in Des Moines, Iowa.
