Fargo, N.D. -- Tommie Women's Soccer recorded its first road comeback win of the Division I era here Friday night as it overcame deficits of 1-0 and 2-1 to take a 3-2 victory over North Dakota State in Summit League action.
The Purple (6-2-3 overall, 2-0-1 Summit League) has its first three-game win streak of the D-I era, and they stayed unbeaten in the conference. They closed the month of September with a 4-1-3 record.
Sophomore Mariah Nguyen stayed hot as she connected for the tying goal in the 56th minute, assisted by sophomore Sofia Caballero. Sophomore Annika Eckroth followed later with her first game-winning goal, assisted by sophomore Abby Brantner, as she buried a shot in the 72nd minute to snap the 2-2 tie.
Senior Jasmine Gates added a first-half goal, assisted by Eckroth and Brantner.
Sophomore keeper Annie Bantner made four saves and helped shut down seven corner-kick tries by the Bison (4-6-3, 0-3).
Quote the Coach
"To come back twice from being down a goal shows a lot of character in the team and a lot of belief in each other," Coach Sheila McGill said. " And to come out with a game-winning goal and three more points in the Summit League, we couldn't be prouder!"

Nguyen has scored goals in three consecutive games over the last six days in wins over Oral Roberts, UW-Green Bay and NDSU.
St. Thomas avenged a 1-0 loss in two overtimes last season at home against the Bison.
