Larson nets first collegiate goal
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The University of St. Thomas defeated UNI 2-1 on Thursday. St. Thomas recorded seven shots and five corner kicks from 65:10 to 75:10 in the second half, part of an 11-shot second half. Freshman Alexis Larson netted her first college goal and Junior Izzy McEwan tallied her fourth.
First Half
- UNI generated three corners and five shots by 16:18, with Ayden Gagner saving two Abi Roberts attempts to keep the match scoreless.
- St. Thomas moved ahead 1-0 at 20:50 when Izzy McEwan converted a penalty kick.
- UNI added corners at 22:46, 24:18, and 33:05, while St. Thomas had attempts from Norah Benson and Ella OKeefe, with OKeefe's shot saved at 29:49.
- UNI tied it 1-1 at 42:39 on Ella Ubben's penalty kick, and the score remained level at halftime.
Second Half
- St. Thomas opened the half with two corners and a Brooke Nygaard shot before UNI answered with two corners and a shot saved by Gagner at 56:45.

Larson scored the game-winning goal and put two of her three shots on goal. McEwan converted a penalty kick for an unassisted goal on her only shot. Oenning tallied an assist off the bench. Gagner recorded three saves over 90 minutes in goal while facing 12 shots and allowing one goal.
