Multi-events, 10K set on Thursday's Day 1 at Summit T&F

Tulsa, Okla. - St. Thomas Track and Field starts competition Thursday in the three-day 2022 Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
There will be 21 final events per gender contested over the May 12-14 weekend, starting with the men's decathlon and women's heptathlon on Thursday and Friday.
There are three final events on Thursday for both genders: the 10,000 meters, the javelin throw and the hammer throw.
On Friday, the conclusion of the multi-events starts the day. There are several prelims races on the track, too. Friday final events will be held in the steeplechase, long jump and discus for both genders, plus the women's high jump and women's pole vault.
There are 14 men's finals and 12 women's finals on Saturday to conclude the competition.
St. Thomas has 60 athletes set to compete -- 32 women and 28 men.
Thursday Highlights
The Tommies have the most competitors in the 13-man decathlon field:
For the men, three are entered in the 10K: sophomores Charlie Caven and Harris Anderson and freshman Tony Weeks; senior Parker Feuerborn is seeded fourth in the hammer; and three Toms are seeded in the top half of the javelin: soph Josh Dolezal, senior Matt Escher, and Raddatz.

There are eight men's teams and eight women's teams competing this week in the Summit outdoor meet.
At February's conference indoor meet, the Tommie men placed fifth out of seven teams while the women's took sixth out of eight teams. The men collected 48.5 points using scoring from 16 athletes in two relays and nine individual events. The women scored in two relays and four individual events.
For the St. Thomas men, 31 performances are seeded in the top 13 thus far individually on the 2022 Summit League outdoor list:
