Track & Field heads to Summit League Indoor Championships Feb. 27-28

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The postseason for St. Thomas track & field begins this weekend with the 2026 Summit League Indoor Track & Field Championships at Grand Forks, N.D. Both meet days begin at 9:30 a.m. with multi events at the University of North Dakota.

Last Time Out
St. Thomas indoor track & field closed out its regular season Feb. 20 at the Snowshoe Open with two event wins and five top-10 program marks.

Brooke Hohenecker moved up to sixth in program history in the 60 meters, running 7.68 in the prelims before finishing third in the final to rank 14th in the Summit League this season. Lauren Rott climbed to second all-time at St. Thomas in the weight throw with a 13.70-meter mark, which also ranks 34th in the NCAA Midwest and seventh in the league, while Zoey Hermel's 5.49-meter long jump placed second and solidified her 10th-place standing in program history. Jacquelyn Cole also put herself among the top 10 of the 60m dash with a time of 7.85.

Barak Barner paced the men in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking 8.25 to finish seventh after placing fourth in the prelims, improving to fifth in program history while ranking 47th in the NCAA Midwest and 12th in the Summit League this season. In the distance events, Casey Poppler delivered a runner-up finish in the mile in 4:12.10, moving to seventh all-time at St. Thomas and 15th on the league performance list. The Tommies added four top-three finishes overall to round out the regular-season finale.
