St. Paul, Minn. - Freshmen Ava Pankratz (12:10.90) and Morgan Ede (12:18.20) placed fourth and fifth out of 15 runners in the 3,000 steeplechase Saturday at the Concordia University Holst Invitational. Both times ranks in the top 15 in the Summit League.
Seven Division I or II scholarship teams were among more than a dozen teams competing at Saturday's men's and women's meet. No team scores were kept.
Molly Reighard and freshman Hailey Hindt placed 2-3 in the 400 hurdles. Reighard improved her season best to 62.73.
Grace McGuire had a season-best time of 59.36 for fifth place in the 400 dash.
Freshman Alicia Belany (2:22.36) and junior Amaya Lyrek (2:22.87) placed 6-7 in the 800 meters, both in season-best times.
Freshman Maggie Olejnik placed third in the triple jump (36-4 3-4) and fifth in the long jump (season-best 17-8 1-4).
Sophomore Taynian Walgrave placed sixth in the 100 hurdles, with a best time in the prelims of 15.33.
Megan Gehrke placed fifth in the shot put (43-1). Freshman Caroline Anderson took fourth in the high jump (5-1). Freshman Alyssa Whaley took fourth of 19 in the javelin (108-11).
The Toms' 4x100 relay placed first of eight teams in 48.91 with Hannah Cornelius, Reighard, Hindt and Walgrave.
The Toms' top 4x400 relay team placed third out of 13 teams in 4:05.01 with Cornelius, Hindt, Reighard, McGuire.
Men's Highlights
Senior Parker Feuerborn improved his personal best in the hammer throw with a meet-record effort Saturday at Concordia University's Holst Invitational.
Seven Division I or II scholarship teams were among more than a dozen teams competing at Saturday's men's and women's meet. No team scores were kept.
The St. Michael-Albertville High grad uncorked a 207-3 throw -- two feet beyond his previous best -- to take first place in a field of 21 athletes. That let him move into second place on the Summit League season list, and move into the top 60 on the 2022 Division I national list.
Feuerborn also set a personal best in the discus throw at 159-7 to move into seventh on the conference season list.
Senior Eric Douville (10.54) and freshman Gary Afram (10.60) placed 2-4 out of 68 entrants in the 100 meters. Those times rank third and fifth in the conference so far, and both are career bests.
Freshman Isaiah Hopf won the triple jump in 45-11 3-4 -- the fourth-best jump this outdoor season in the conference. Hopf also took eighth in the 100 meters in 10.71.
Senior Matt Escher was just five feet off his season best as he placed first in the javelin at 166-0. That mark ranks seventh best in the Summit League. Teammates Josh Dolezal (156-3) and Nate Raddatz (154-4) placed 2-3.
Carter Maack ran 14.55 in the 110 hurdles prelims, a time that ranks fourth best in the Summit League. Erik Anderson and Maack placed 4-5 in the 110 finals with identical times of 14.63.
Sophomore Carmeron Schulz moved into the top 12 in the conference in the pole vault with an outdoor best of 14-3 1-4.
In the 800 meters, Maxwell Gifford (1:54.17) and John Morrison (1:54.84) placed 2-4 with season-best times.
Freshman Jack Rosner clocked 55.06 for third place in the 400 hurdles. Anderson (56.49) took eighth.
The Toms' 4x100 relay took second of 13 teams in 41.85 with Nate Carlin, Afram, Alec Martzahl and Dolezal.
