St. Paul, Minn. - St. Thomas softball welcomes in the North Dakota Fighting Hawks for a three-game weekend series. Barring weather changes, the team will play a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday.

Chasing No. 700
Coach Trotter is now 14 wins away from 700 career victories. 676 of Trotter's wins came with Missouri Western at the Division II level. Trotter earned her first Division I win in a 6-5 victory against Ball State on Feb. 11.

Last Time Out
St. Thomas continued to take at least one win from a Summit League foe, going 1-2 against the Mavs this past weekend. Megan Baniecke did it all for the team against Omaha in a 2-1 win, hitting a home run, and firing seven innings of one-run ball. The Tommie offense struggled in the near-freezing temperatures at home against Omaha pitching.

Goelz Goes Yard
Sophomore Katie Goelz, receiving more at bats as of late, has moved into the top five on the team in home runs (2). Goelz has tallied a base hit in nine of 16 games where she received an at bat. Against Green Bay on April 6, Goelz finished 3-4 at the plate with two runs, a double, and an RBI. Her first Division I home run came at Kansas City on April 3.

Summarizing the Summit
Picked to finish last in the Summit League, the Tommies are currently fifth of eight schools in the standings. Even after missing a few games, Brooke Ellestad continues to lead the conference in batting average (.422). Ellestad is also top five in the Summit League in slugging (.642), OBP (.449), OPS (1.091), and hits (46). Christina Crawford has struck out 78 batters in 97.1 innings, both of which rank seventh in the Summit League. 21 of Crawford's 78 strikeouts have been of the looking variety, which also ranks seventh. St. Thomas finished with 16 hits at Green Bay on April 6, the most hits in a game by any Summit League program this season.

In the Circle
Isabelle True leads the team with a 3.90 ERA. In her last game, True tossed seven innings and allowed three earned runs. Over True's previous 20.0 innings pitched, she has allowed just five earned runs, and struck out 10 batters. Freshman Christina Crawford leads the team in wins (5), innings pitched (97.1) and strikeouts (78). Baniecke is coming off of a start where she allowed just one run over seven innings.

Series History
This weekend marks the first time that North Dakota and St. Thomas have played each other.
