Moll, Walgrave sharp again for Women's T&F at Gopher Classic

Minneapolis -- Senior Olivia Moll won the 3,000 in a career-best time and sophomore Taynian Walgrave had another strong day in the hurdles and sprints to lead Tommie Women's Track and Field at Saturday's Gopher Classic indoor meet on the University of Minnesota campus.

The non-team scored meet included some Minnesota Gopher, St. Thomas and unattached athletes as well as some Division III teams.

An all-conference CC runner in the Summit League last fall, Moll clocked a career-best 10:11.07 to win the 3,000.

Walgrave had a career-best time of 7.96 in the 60 dash in a runner-up finish. She also placed second in the 60 hurdles in 8.84.

Freshman Hannah Cornelius took second in the 400 dash in a season-best time of 58.55.

Freshman Caroline Anderson took second in the high jump in 5-3.

Freshman Molly Desotell took first in the mile in 5:15 and third in the 3,000 in 10:25.35. 

Freshman Alicia Belany took second in the 800 in 2:22.84.

St. Thomas will have athletes competing next Friday in the South Dakota State Invite.
