Swimming & Diving totals 17 individual top-three finishes at Milwaukee

Milwaukee, Wis. - The St. Thomas men's and women's swimming & diving teams competed in duals at Milwaukee in Milwaukee, Wis. on Friday. The teams also sent student-athletes to the First-Chance Meet in Minneapolis, Minn. as part of a split meet.
 
Against the Panthers, both the men's and women's squads were tripped up, with the women's team losing 168-72, and the men's team losing 186-55.
 
In the dual meet at Milwaukee, A.J. Carollo, Will Goldman, Jake Appino, and Garrett Riley combined for a second-place finish in the 200 Yard Medley Relay. Joe Rudd, a freshman for the Tommies, raced to first in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (58.97) and second place in the 200 Yard IM. Alex Foti finished third in the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 9:57.89. Foti also finished in third in the 500 Yard Freestyle. John Gahnz notched third in the 100 Yard Freestyle (49.35).
 
Skyler Leverenz tallied first in the 200 Yard IM, finishing with a time of 2:11.55. Allison An finished first in the 3 Meter Dive for the Tommies with a finals score of 239.18. Sophie Curran completed the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 59.90, good for second. Elizabeth Bonneville continued her successful freshman campaign with a top-two time (18:28.24) in the 1650 Yard Freestyle against the Panthers. Ellie Sizemore followed up with a third-place time of 18:55.02 in the event. Ashley Plantenberg raced to third in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:00.59).
