Several personal bests set by Swimming & Diving at Minnesota

Minneapolis, Minn. - The St. Thomas men's and women's swimming & diving teams concluded their competition at the First Chance Meet hosted by the Minnesota Gophers on Saturday.

On the first day of competition, sophomore Ellie Bilderback and freshman Kiara Bissen finished in the top three in the 100 Yard Breaststroke. Ella Palmquist recorded a top-three time of 59.12 in the 100 Yard Butterfly. Claudia Stone tallied third in the 200 Yard IM with a time of 2:18.13.

Day two saw Mary Burke finish first with a finals time of 4:47.52 in the 400 Yard IM. Abbey Cornelius raced to fourth in the 1650 Yard Freestyle with a time of 18:49.88. Maddie McGreevy earned third in the 200 Yard Breaststroke (2:34.57). Palmquist and Audrey Percich finished second and third, respectively, in the 200 Yard Butterfly.

For the men's side on day two, Luke Anderson notched third in the 200 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:59.09. Carlo Mallari tallied a time of 55.40 in the 100 Yard Backstroke, finishing fourth.
