Overtime loss for Men's Hockey to wrap regular season

Bemidji, Minn. -- Host Bemidji State needed 26 seconds and two shots in 3-on-3 overtime to pull out a 4-3 victory over St. Thomas in Saturday night's CCHA men's hockey contest. Thr game winner produced BSU's only lead of the game.

The Beavers (16-18 overall, 14-12 CCHA) tied the game 3-3 with an extra-attacker goal with 2:21 left in regulation time.

St. Thomas (3-30-1, 3-22-1) dropped 0-4-1 in overtime games this season. Luke Manning recorded a goal and an assist to close out his four-point weekend for the Purple. Grant Loven notched his second goal in as many nights, and Aaron Swanson also contributed a goal.

Peter Thome stopped 40 of 43 shots in regulation time.

Manning has scored four goals and four assists over his last five games. He's tied for the team lead in goals with seven.

St. Thomas will play at top-seed Minnesota State next weekend in the best-of-three opening round of the CCHA playoffs, starting Friday (7:07 p.m.) and Saturday (6:07 p.m.).
