Duluth, Minn. - St. Thomas women's hockey (5-23-1, 3-20-1 WCHA) allowed eight goals to No. 4 Minnesota Duluth (19-10-0, 16-9-0 WCHA) in an 8-1 loss on Saturday.

The Tommies faced pressure from the Bulldog offense all game, including a match-high 20 shots in the first period. Down 2-0 with 29 seconds left in the opening period, junior Allie Monrean scored the team's lone goal, with assists from senior Anna Solheim and freshman Maddie Jurgensen. The Tommie goal came on one of just three shots in the first.

St. Thomas would be outscored by Minnesota Duluth, 6-0, over the final 40 minutes. In the second period, the Tommies would be held to one shot. Six shots in the third gave the team a new high in shots for any of the three periods.

Sophomore forward Brieja Parent led the Purple in faceoff wins with 11. Parent recorded half of the team's faceoff victories.

Senior goaltender Alexa Dobchuk received the start, making 39 saves across 50 minutes, and letting up six scores. Senior Eryn Cooley came into the game in relief, tallying seven saves in nine minutes.
