Men's Hockey drops another tight road game, 3-2

Bowling Green, Ohio -- Tommie Men's Hockey was whistled for only four penalties on Friday night, but host Bowling Green capitalized with a pair of power-play goals in a 3-2 victory over the Purple in CCHA action.
St. Thomas (2-9 overall, 1-4 CCHA) has four one-goal defeats on the road this season. Coach Rico Blasi's squad never led on the night but stayed in the game all 60 minutes.
St. Thomas outshot the Falcons (4-7, 3-4) by a 33-31 margin. But the Falcons went 2-for-3 on the power play to the Tommies' 0-for-2 clip. Freshman Aaron Trotter had 28 saves.
Tommie senior Mack Byers tied the score 1-1 with a first-period goal. Freshman Josh Eernisse pulled the Purple within 3-2 with a goal midway through the third period. But St. Thomas couldn't record the equalizer over the game's final 9:24.
