Women's Golf enters day 2 of Big O Classic in fifth place

Omaha, Neb. - The St. Thomas Women's Golf Team finished the first day of the Big O Classic in fifth place in the nine-team competition, while junior Courtney Wedin sits in fourth place after day 1.
Wedin posted scores of 71 and 79 to finish day 1 of the classic with a score of 150 through the first 36 holes. Sophomore Isabelle Lynch currently sits tied for 26th with scores of 84 and 76 through rounds one and two, while freshman Caroline Monty is tied for 28th through the first 36 holes with scores of 85 and 76.
As a team, St. Thomas posted a first-round score of 639, creighton leads after day 1 on with a scores of 610. The Purple shaved 15 strokes off of their round 2 score, posting a 312 after shooting a 327 through the first 18 holes of the classic.
Also competing for the Tommies is the freshman duo Emma Davies (tied-45th, 87-81--168) and Kate Foley (tied-53rd, 89-81--170)
St. Thomas finishes the two-day meet with the final 18 holes tomorrow.
