Men's Soccer back in win column with 2-0 home victory

St. Paul, Minn. -- Tommie Men's Soccer closed out its home-field play for 2022 on a bright note on a sunny Saturday at South Field. The Toms scored early and scored again late to top Lindenwood, 2-0, in Summit League action.
Freshman Jorge Pacheco scored his first collegiate goal in the 11th minute. Senior Jacek Nickowski scored an insurance tally in the 89th minute.
Tucker Mann had four saves in goal as the team recorded its third shutout of the season and sixth of the D-I era,
The Toms (3-10-2 overall, 2-3-1 Summit) halted a three-game losing streak and ended a four-game scoreless streak.
Next Up
St. Thomas has a busy week with a road test Wednesday night at Southern Indiana followed by a road game next Saturday at Kansas City. With one win this week the Toms can surpass the 2021 team's victory total.

Coach Jon Lowery's team matched the total number of wins recorded in 2021, year one of the D-I era.
The Toms improved to 4-3-2 in their last nine games at home dating back to October 2021.
Lindenwood (3-10-1) and Southern Indiana are two first-year Division I athletic programs in 2022-23, and also newcomers as affiliate members in men's soccer in The Summit League.
