Fargo, N.D. -- North Dakota State took a 3-0 win over St. Thomas Volleyball Saturday afternoon at Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse in Fargo, N.D. The Tommies fall to 3-20 overall and 1-10 in the Summit League while the Bison improve to 15-7 overall and 8-2 in league play.
Freshman Tezra Rudzitis began scoring for the Tommies with a kill off an assist from fellow freshman Allie Kopp to the set one, 2-2. Both teams went on quick 2-0 run before NDSU pulled way for a 10-4 lead. Two kills and a block assist by junior Ellie Dammann helped St. Thomas cut the deficit to two, 15-13, before NDSU went on to win the set, 25-17.
St. Thomas held early leads in both sets two and three before making late comeback attempts. After trailing by as many as seven in set three, sophomore Lauren Galvin started a 4-0 run with one of her team-high nine kills. A block assist from Galvin and Dammann brought the deficit down to two before the Bison scored three of the final four points.
