Berthoud, Colo. - The St. Thomas Men's Golf Team finished the three-day, 10-team TPC Colorado at Heron Lakes in 9th place, place three in the top-50.

"This was definitely a tournament I had circled on our schedule, playing alongside some of the best teams in the nation in Colorado State and BYU," said Head Coach Matt Rachey. "The golf course, TPC Colorado, actually hosted a Korn Ferry event this past July and we played the same pins/yardage as the tour professionals."

Junior Matthew Armstrong led the team shooting a 223 in the three-round tournament, he finished tied for 28th. Senior Matthew Garside finished tied for 48th with a score of 229. "In summary, it was definitely a learning experience this week. Playing at 8000 yards, you have to be extremely disciplined and patient. You can't fake it around this golf course. Although there were some ups and downs, tournament experience on this type of championship setup is going to pay huge dividends for us come conference championships in May," Rachey added.
