Women's Golf storms back to tie North Dakota in weather-shortened Tommie Cup Matches

St. Louis Park, Minn. - The Tommies entered the day trailing North Dakota, 4.5 to 2.5 points after the first round, before the Tommies posted four wins and a tie on the second day to end the rain-shortened Tommie Cup Matches in a draw.
"It wasn't the weather we would have liked and it made the course even more difficult," said Head Coach Katie Hanneman. "The fact that we made up so many points so quickly to force the draw gives us so much momentum heading into the winter months as we prepare for conference play in the spring."
Juniors Courtney Wedin and Claudia Kim, sophomore Isabelle Lynch, and freshman Kate Foley all won their match on the second day of competition as the Tommies posted four wins, a tie and two losses on the day.
On day one, Wedin scored a point for the Tommies, as she faced her former team in match play for the first time. Contreras added another point for the Tommies by winning her match and Davies tallied half of a point for the Purple with a tie.
The Tommies will now turn their attention to the spring portion of their schedule, which will be released at a later date.
