Track and Field's Feuerborn sharp again at Cyclone Open

Ames, Iowa -- Senior Parker Feuerborn improved his career best in the weight throw with a top-45 national performance to highlight the St. Thomas Track and Field team efforts Saturday indoors at the Iowa State Cyclone Open.
The non-team scored meet included Division I athletes from Missouri, Minnesota, Iowa State, Drake, Bradley and St. Thomas as well as some unattached competitors.
Feuerborn won the event with a toss of 65-9 -- that ranks No. 42 on the national list and No. 3 in the Summit League.
Freshman Jack Rosner had broken the Tommie school record in the 60 hurdles two weeks earlier at 8.26, and he came back Saturday to clock 8.32. Senior Erik Anderson (8.42) placed fourth. Carter Maack clocked 8.54 in the prelims.
Freshman Connor Johnsrud took second in the triple jump in 43-10 3-4, a top-10 mark in the Summit League.
Senior Eric Douville had good early-season times as he record 60- and 200-meter times of 7.00 and 22.10. His 200 time ranks in the top 10 in the Summit League.
Junior Morey Smith clocked 4:21.55 in the mile in his first Division I track race.
Women's Track and Field Highlights
In her first Division I track race, senior Olivia Moll had a personal-best time of 10:24.16 in a deep field of the 3,000 meters. Moll won the first heat and placed 16th overall.
Senior transfer Molly Reighard clocked 25.51 in the 200 and 7.88 in the 60.
Sophomore Taynian Walgrave just missed a personal best in the 60 hurdles as she placed sixth in 8.92.
Freshman Maggie Olejnik had a college-best 17-0 1-4 in the long jump and a fifth-place finish.
Next Competition
St. Thomas' men and women compete next Friday and Saturday at the University of Minnesota's Jack Johnson Invite.
