St. Thomas Volleyball made its Summit League debut Thursday night with a road test at Omaha, the first of 18 conference contests. The Mavericks rolled up 48 kills and hit .370 to cruise to a 3-0 win, 25-16, 25-11, 25-15.

Senior Sadie Limback had 14 kills and hit .407 for Omaha (4-7). The Mavs were picked for third place in the preseason coaches' poll for this fall's 10-team conference race after a 12-4 Summit finish last season.

The Tommies (1-10), playing their ninth match outside of Minnesota, were unable to get their offense untracked. Carrie Rutledge had 11 dgs; Grace Anetipa had one ace and seven assists; and Lauren Galvin had nine digs and three kills.

St. Thomas continues its three-day, two state road swing with a Saturday afternoon match against Denver, which improved to 10-1 on the season with a 3-0 home victory Thursday against Western Illinois.
