Men's Hockey ties game in third, but falls 4-2 on road

Host Bowling Green scored the go-ahead and insurance goals in the final 6:41 on the clock Friday night to take a 4-2 win over visiting St. Thomas Men's Hockey in CCHA play in Bowling Green, Ohio.
The Falcons (4-1-2 overall, 2-1 CCHA) killed off all five Tommie power plays and converted 2-of-4 on their own advantage chances.
Zack Rose stopped 27 of 29 shots for the winners. Peter Thome stopped 30 of 34 for St. Thomas (1-10, 1-6).
Matthew Jennings' first-period goal, assisted by Nolan Sawchuk, put the Purple ahead 1-0.
BGSU scored twice in the second period to take its first lead at 2-1.
Christiano Versich scored at the 7:53 mark of period three to tie the game, assisted by Jennings and Kyler Grundy.
But the Falcons regained the lead on Chrystopher Collin's even-strength goal with under 7:00 to go. They added a power-play goal with under 4:00 to play.
The teams play again Saturday night to close out the weekend series.
