St. Louis, Mo. – St. Thomas football collected one first-team and six second-team All-PFL honorees, with six more All-PFL honorable mention, in its inaugural season playing at the NCAA Division I level and in the Pioneer Football League (PFL), the league announced Tuesday. The 29th All-PFL Teams follow the announcement of the league's Major Award Winners, Monday. The league names its 29th Academic All-PFL team and its Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Wednesday, concluding the league's awards week.

The All-PFL announcement comes on the heels of the awarding of the conference's Offensive and Defensive Freshman of the Year honors to freshman running back Hope Adebayo and freshman linebacker Luke Herzog.

Senior offensive lineman Matt Weimann was the team's lone All-PFL first team selection. Weimann, of Oakdale, Minn., helped propel the Tommies to the second-best rushing attack in the conference at 192.5 yards per game in league play. St. Thomas' 24 rushing touchdowns against conference foes ranked second in the PFL.

On the offensive side for the Tommies, Adebayo, senior fullback Nick Rice, and senior offensive lineman Mike Ruggeri secured second-team All-PFL honors. Adebayo finished second in yards per rush (5.95), third in touchdowns (12), and fourth in rushing yards (643) against Pioneer Football League opponents. Rice, of Elk River, Minn., added 255 yards and three TDs on the ground for St. Thomas. Ruggeri, from St. Louis, Mo., was a strong proponent in the second-best rushing attack in the conference.

Herzog and senior defensive backs Luke Glenna and Isaiah Hall took home second-team All-PFL accolades on the defensive side for the Toms. Herzog finished with 47 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and four sacks on the second-best total defense (292.6) in conference play. Glenna, of Edina, Minn., was the team's leader with 65 tackles and five pass breakups, four interceptions, and two fumble recoveries. Hall, from Burnsville, Minn., accumulated four passes defended and three interceptions while making 27 tackles.

Six Tommies were named All-PFL honorable mention, including three more defenders: sophomore linebacker Jonathan Bunce, senior defensive back Joe Hird, and sophomore linebacker Jack Mohler. Offensively, freshman offensive lineman Alec Rasmussen and junior tight end Max Zimmerman joined the list of Toms earning honorable mention status, while sophomore punter Kolby Gartner was the lone St. Thomas specialist to receive a PFL end-of-season highlight.

The league will announce the Academic All-PFL team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Wednesday, Dec. 1.
