St. Thomas Men's Hockey Game 7 Notes -- Oct. 21

After opening conference play with four losses on two long bus rides, Tommie Men's Hockey is happy to see its home ice as it welcomes the Ferris State Bulldogs to Saint Thomas Ice Arena this weekend. The teams play Friday and Saturday in Mendota Heights, both with 7 p.m. puck drops.
These universities last played in hockey 44 seasons ago -- a 6-4 and 4-2 sweep by Ferris on its home ice.
St. Thomas coach Rico Blasi's team continues its inaugural D-I CCHA campaign. They will play at Saint Thomas Ice Arena for the first time this season -- and first time here in 33 weeks since a 4-3 defeat of St. Mary's back in March as part of the Tommies' final Division III season. Twelve players from last year's eight-game season are back to go with seven transfers and nine Juniors players.
This is the third of 13 CCHA conference series for Tommies this fall and winter – and the first of two against Ferris State. The teams play again in Big Rapids, Mich., on Jan 14 and 15.
