No. 16-ranked St. Thomas Men's Soccer scored early in the first overtime Tuesday to claim a wild 4-3 victory at Hamline.
Lucas Horton ran under a long pass up the sideline and weaved all the way to the side of the net and before he dished to Jonathan Acevedo, who converted his first collegiate goal to claim the win.
The Tommies (6-1-1 overall, 2-0-1 MIAC) ran their conference unbeaten streak to 17. The Pipers dropped to 4-3 (1-2 MIAC).
Hamline scored two goals in the first 20 minutes, but Alex Gutenberg scored his first collegiate goal and Andrew Shirley followed with the first two goals of his college career to put the Toms ahead 3-2 at halftime.
UST had a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal, and a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
St. Thomas is home Saturday to face Macalester (3:30 p.m.).
