Mid-game surge sinks Men's Soccer

Senior Clayton Smith scored his sixth and seventh goals of the season as visiting Macalester scored a 3-1 win over St. Thomas Saturday in MIAC men's soccer play at UST's South Field.
The Scots (6-2-1 overall, 3-0-1 MIAC) ended St. Thomas' 17-game conference unbeaten streak (16-0-1).
Freshman Jack Barry scored in the 85th minute to avert a shutout for the Tommies (6-2-1, 2-1-1).
Logan Harper scored in the final minute of the first half to put Mac ahead 2-0. Smith added his second goal in the 61st minute for a 3-0 Scots lead.
The Toms play Tuesday at home against St. John's.
