Sophomore Peder Larson shot one-under-par 71 on Sunday to close out an impressive weekend and lead No. 10-ranked St. Thomas to the team victory at the two-day, 36-hole Augsburg Invite at the Majestic Oaks course in Ham Lake.

The Tommies (287-298/585) posted a four-stroke win over Bethel and a six-stroke cushion on UW-Eau Claire. They beat teams from 11 other universities in their first competition of 2018-19.

Larson's 140 total (69-71) finished second among 103 players and first among 65 golfers from eight MIAC teams. Nebraska Wesleyan's Alex Kubik (72-67/139) edged Larson by one stroke for medalist honors.

UST's three teams finished first, eighth and 12th place and put three players in the top 13. Herb (72-73/145) tied for fifth and Ben Kisla (77-70/147) tied for 10th. Kusla's closing-day 70 was Sunday's third-best score of the torunament.

The Toms' first team this weekend was Larson, Herb, Miles McCarthy (69-82/151), Matt Mellin (78-73/151) and freshman Sawyer Bailey (77-81/156).
