Women's Golf wins second tourney in a row

Tommie Women's Golf put three players in the top seven and took first place out of 18 teams at the Wartburg College Invitational in Waverly, Iowa. The 36-hole, two-day event wrapped up Sunday.
It was UST's second team victory in as many weeks.
St. Thomas (301-310/611) scored an eight-shot win over runner-up Carleton (313-306/619). Wartburg (621) and St. Catherine (622) placed 3-4.
Rachel Morris (74-73/147) took second in a field of 94 and first among 25 conference players. She closed four shots behind Grinnell's Vrashali Sinha.
Emily Thul shot 71-81/152 to tie for fifth. Erin Dingmann shot 77-76/153 for seventh. Morgan McCorkle was 19th after rounds of 79-81/160. Marja Sorensen tied for 22nd after shooting 82-80/162.
Among individuals, UST's Kate Drimel shot 81-80/161, and Kate Balison had rounds of 84-89/173.
Saturday story
Tommie Women's Golf carded a program-record round of 301 and sits in first place out of 18 teams at the midway point of the Wartburg College Invitational in Waverly, Iowa.
The final 18 holes will be played on Sunday.
St. Thomas' 301 broke the school record of 304 set last Sunday at the St. Ben's Invite. UST leads St. Catherine by five strokes. Wartburg (309) and Carleton (313) are within striking distance.
Sophomore Emily Thul shot a 71 and is tied for first place in a field of 94 players. She eclipsed her collegiate best score of 72 set six days earlier.
Rachel Morris (74) is tied for fourth, Erin Dingmann (77) is tied for ninth, and Morgan McCorkle (79) is tied for 14th.
Kate Drimel (81), Marja Sorensen (82) and Kate Balison (84) round out the Tommie entrants.
