All 10 in-season St. Thomas varsity sports teams will compete Saturday or Sunday, with a pair of tennis competitions on campus, and six other teams playing in the Twin Cities.
Tennis
St. Thomas opens its 2012 men's tennis season Saturday at noon at Anderson Fieldhouse against UW-LaCrosse. There's no admission charge for spectators.
Last fall, Coach Terry Peck achieved his 500th career victory with Tommie men's and women's tennis.
The Tommie men had a 15-4 finish last season, with all four defeats against ranked teams. They graduated two starters but return a good nucleus, led by senior Dan Cooper and juniors Brian McCarthy and Brendan O'Connell.
LaCrosse went 18-7 in 2011 although it fell to the Tommies early in the season by a 5-4 score. The Eagles are 0-1 thus far in 2012 with a 7-2 loss last week to Carleton.
On Sunday, the Tommie women will hold a 9 a.m. home match against an alumni team. The UST women went 1-1 last fall and opened the spring season last Saturday with a 9-0 loss to Division I Creighton.
Indoor Track and Field
The St. Thomas women's and men's teams will compete Saturday in Waverly, Iowa at the Wartburg Select Meet. UST, UW-Platteville, UW-River Falls, Central and Wartburg will compete.

Swimming and Diving
The St. Thomas men and women will have day two of the Minnesota Challenge on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. at the U of M Aquatic Center. Click here to see live results:

Basketball
The Tommie men's and women's basketball teams play Saturday afternoon at Augsburg. Both games will have live video and live stats.
The women's game at 1 p.m. pits No. 15-ranked St. Thomas (19-1 overall, 17-0 MIAC) against the seventh-place Auggies (12-8, 9-8). UST has a three-game lead in the conference races with five games to play and has already secured a top-two seed for the playoffs.

Hockey
St. Thomas swept Bethel Friday night in women's and men's games, and the teams play again Saturday night.
The women took a 3-0 road victory and moved into a second-place tie with Concordia-Moorhead in the conference race. UST, which has won seven of its last eight games, has improved to 9-6-2 on the season.

The No. 7-ranked Tommie men topped Bethel Friday night at home, 5-2, and in the process secured the MIAC championship. UST plays Bethel at 7 p.m. Saturday in Blaine at the National Sports Center rink. Live stats or video will not be offered for the men's game.
