Volleyball, Soccer, CC, Golf have busy weekend

St. Thomas has one on-campus event and seven sports teams in all competing from Friday through Monday.
Volleyball
The No. 10-ranked Tommies (13-3) play four matches today and Saturday in the Wartburg Invite in Waverly, Iowa. on Friday, UST plays UW-LaCrosse at 2 p.m., then faces host Wartburg at 6 p.m. On Saturday, the Tommies face Cornell at 10 a.m., and play UW-River Falls at 2 p.m.

Women's Soccer
The Tommies (5-2 overall, 3-1 MIAC) play a 1 p.m. Saturday conference match at Hamline (6-2-1, 1-2-1).
UST is coming off a 2-1 home win over No. 22-ranked Concordia-Moorhead and sits in third place in a crowded conference standings. It appears that as many as nine MIAC teams will be in the chase for four playoff spots over the next four weeks.
Men's Cross Country
St. Thomas will race its top team at Saturday's Loyola Lakefront race near Chicago, and have its other runners at today's UW-Eau Claire Invite.
The 8,000-meter Loyola race starts at 11:15 and includes 52 teams, including several Division I squads.
Men's Soccer
The Tommie men's soccer team (4-2) plays Saturday at UW-Whitewater (4 p.m.) and Sunday at Carroll in Waukesha, Wis. Whitewater (5-4) has won five in a row. Carroll takes a 3-5-1 record into Saturday's home game vs. Lawrence.
Golf
The Tommie men and women's golf teams compete Saturday, Sunday and Monday in the MIAC Championships at Bunker Hills course in Coon Rapids. Both squads will enter two freshmen in their five-player lineups.

Football
No. 3-ranked St. Thomas (4-0 overall, 2-0 MIAC) is home Saturday to play archrival St. John's (2-2, 1-1). Kickoff is 1:10 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. UST faculty, staff and students are admitted free with a curent UST ID card.

--8 a.m.: Fans can start parking in south campus ramp and some surface lots
--9:30 a.m.: Tailgaters can begin lining up for access to Lot M on south campus
--10 a.m.: Tailgaters allowed into Lot M on south campus
--10 a.m.: Tickets go on sale at Cretin Avenue and south windows
--10 a.m.: "Purple on the Plaza" event begins at John P. Monahan Plaza, just south of field
--10:30 a.m.: Monahan hospitality tent opens
--11 a.m.: Gates open for fans to enter O'Shaughnessy Stadium, ticket sales at all booths
--1:10 p.m.: Kickoff
