Women's Hoops cruises to fourth victory in row

Senior guard Ali Johnson made five 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 17 points to lead the first-place Tommies (4-1 overall, 2-0 MIAC) past the visiting Pipers (2-2, 1-2) Monday night in MIAC women's basketball at Schoenecker Arena.
The Tommies shot 51% from the floor (26-of-51) and had a 42-28 rebounding advantage. UST used a 29-3 run late in the first half to build a 36-12 halftime lead.
Kara Poirier had 11 point to lead Hamline. The Pipers shot just 21 percent from the floor (11-of-53).
St. Thomas plays Wednesday night at Macalester.
