Junior forward Jazmin Townsend tallied a career-high 15 points and the visiting Tommies had a season-low 12 turnovers as they scored a 69-60 win over St. Catherine in Wednesday night's MIAC women's basketball play on the SCU court.

Sophomore guard Ali Johnson sank four treys and finshed with 18 points, seven rebounds and four assists for St. Thomas (15-5 overalll, 12-5 MIAC), which has won five in a row over a 12-day stretch.

Coach Ruth Sinn's team improved to 9-2 on the road this season and won for the ninth time in 11 games as it moved closer to securing an MIAC playoff spot.

Center Rachel Booth was slowed by foul trouble yet had 17 points, eight rebounds and eight blocks in just 27 minutes.

The Tommies used a 14-0 run to take a 20-12 lead. The Wildcats never got closer than four points thereafter.

St. Thomas is home Saturday to face Carleton at 1 p.m. at CU's Gangelhoff Center.
