Junior center Rachel Booth scored 35 points -- the most by any conference women's or men's player this season -- to lead the visiting Tommies to a 77-69 road win over Hamline in MIAC women's basketball play Saturday on the Pipers floor.
Booth had 26 of her points in the second half. She added eight rebounds and four blocked shots.
UST sank 17-of-21 free throws and had just 13 turnovers, one off their season low. Jordyn Sears had 13 points, five assists and four steals, and Jazmin Townsend had 10 rebounds.
St. Thomas (18-7 overall, 15-7 MIAC) ended a two-game skid. The Toms were tied 28-28 at halftime but put up 49 second-half points.
Coach Ruth Sinn's team will play Monday at No. 4 seed Macalester in the conference playoffs as the No. 5 seed.
It was the 10th road victory of the season for the Tommies, who have a conference best 28 road wins over the last three seasons.
Hamline had five players score in double figures. The Pipers need Bethel and St. Catherine to lose today to claim the sixth and final playoff spot.
