Volleyball goes 3-1 on weekend at Carthage

St. Thomas finished 1-1 on Saturday at the Carthage Invitational and closed 3-1 on the weekend. The Toms scored a 3-0 win over No. 17-rated UW-Oshkosh but lost 3-0 to No. 10-rated Carthage (25-21, 28-26, 25-19).
Emily Foster and Jill Osborne made the All-Tournament team for St. Thomas (27-5). The Tommies shared the MIAC title with St. Olaf, a 3-0 winner today over Carleton. UST will be the No. 2 seed in the conference playoffs and host a Thursday night playoff game.
Friday story
No. 12-ranked St. Thomas won two matches Friday against strong teams in the Carthage Invitational. The Tommies topped Trinity (Tex.) 3-1 (21-25, 25-17, 25-22, 26-24) and then beat No. 13-rated Heidelberg, 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 26-24).
UST climbed to 26-4 and ran its Division III win streak to 21. Heidelberg is now 27-5 while Trinity is 22-13.
St. Thomas plays No. 17-ranked UW-Oshkosh and No. 10-rated Carthage on Saturday.
