Volleyball locks playoff berth with Friday's 3-0 win

No. 13-ranked St. Thomas secured an MIAC playoff berth and remained one-half game ahead in the conference standings with Friday night's 3-0 home volleyball victory over St. Catherine.
The Toms hit .243 as a team and won 25-10, 25-14, 25-20 before 520 spectators at UST's Anderson Athketic and Rcereation Complex.
The Tommies (22-4 overall, 8-1 MIAC) have won 17 consecutive matches against Division III foes and ran their home win streak to five.
Also Friday, St. Olaf won a five-set decision at home over St. Ben's and Concordia rallied to win in five sets at Gustavus. Both St. Olaf and Concordia climbed to 7-1 in the MIAC, and they meet Saturday at 3 p.m. in Northfield.
Katie Bonine had 11 kills and seven digs; Emily Foster had 35 assists and seven digs; Kaitlain Wachter had 24 digs; Molly Staton had 11 digs; Tori Jones had eight kills; and Jill Osborne had seven kills.
