Volleyball tops Gusties, runs win string to 14

Senior All-American Emily Foster had 50 assists and 12 digs as 14th-ranked St. Thomas scored a 3-1 win over Gustavus in Wednesday night's MIAC volleyball match at UST's Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex.
UST won 28-26, 15-25, 25-13, 25-15.
The Toms, who have won 14 consecutive matches, remained in a tie with St. Olaf and Concordia for the conference lead.
Katie Bonine had 11 kills and eight digs; Jill Osborne had 13 kills and hit .440; Alesha Nelson had nine kills and three blocks and hit .450; Kaitlain Wachter had 17 digs and three aces; and Molly Staton had 11 digs.
St. Thomas is home Friday night to face Augsburg (7 p.m.).
