Volleyball drops Augs, gets 15th win in row

Senior Jill Osborne had 10 kills and four blocks and hit .320 as No. 14-ranked St. Thomas ran its volleyball win streak to 15 with Friday night's 3-0 victory over Augsburg at UST's Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex.
The Tommies (20-3 overall, 7-1 MIAC) won 25-18, 25-10, 25-18. They hit .330 over the first two sets and .233 on the match.
Coach Thanh Pham's team is now alone in first place in the conference by one half game ahead of idle St. Olaf and Concordia-Moorhead. The Tommies also secured a berth into the six-team MIAC playoffs.
Senior Katie Bonine had nine kills and 10 digs and Kaitlain Wachter had 13 digs and two aces.
Senior All-American Emily Foster had 29 assists to move to 4,959 on her career. Foster has a chance to reach the 5,000 milestone on Saturday in Eau Claire when the Toms face the Blugolds at 11 a.m. and Viterbo at 1 p.m.
