Booth, balance leads Women's Hoops win over Oles

Rachel Booth had 12 points, seven blocks and seven rebounds and the visiting Tommies helped limit the host Oles to 17 second-half points in Saturday's 56-37 victory over St. Olaf in MIAC women's basketball play in Northfield.
The Oles (2-14 overall, 2-11 MIAC) pulled within 48-37 with 3:59 to go, but UST closed out the game on an 8-0 run.
St. Thomas (11-5, 8-5), which never trailed, improved to 6-2 on the road this season. The Tommies led 32-20 at halftime, then used an 11-1 run in the first 5:45 of the second half for their biggest lead at 43-21.
USt's Ali Johnson had eight points and 10 rebounds, Kassie Robinson had nine points, Becky Theisen had six points and nine rebounds, and Jordyn Sears had six points and four assists.
Katie Lauer had 10 points for the Oles, who shot just 26% from the field and made only 7-of-17 free throws.
St. Thomas plays Wednesday night at Augsburg.
