Senior center Annegret Nautsch had 20 points, 18 rebounds and six blocks and broke the Royals' career rebounding record to lead Bethel to a 65-33 win over the host Tommies in MIAC women's basketball play Wednesday night at UST's Schoenecker Arena.
Nautsch now has 1,063 points, 787 rebounds and 260 blocks in 85 career games. She broke the old Bethel record of 782 rebounds set by Kim Carlson (1992-95).
UST (7-4 overall, 5-3 MIAC) has lost twice in three days after winning five in a row, including an 82-72 win last week over No. 7-ranked Simpson. Their 33 points were the second lowest in the program's 31-year history.
The Toms shot just 18 percent from the field, and missed their last 12 attempts from 3-point range in a 3-for-20 finish behind the arc. They were outscored 34-17 in the first half and 27-8 over the final 17:00.
Bethel (4-6, 3-4) trailed 4-0 then used an early 18-2 run to take control. The Royals sank 27-of-30 at the foul line to offset 29% shooting from the floor. They had just four second-half turnovers to help pull away.
BU's Lakita Davis had 10 points and five rebounds, and Shana Grejtak had six points, nine rebounds and five assists.
UST senior Jessica Katch played just 24 minutes and fouled out. She led UST with eight points, four rebounds and three steals.
In two losses this week, the Toms' opponents made 45-of-49 free throws to UST's 17-of-25.
