Blumer, Kilpatrick named hockey All-Americans

Senior Anthony Blumer of Eagan and junior Becky Kilpatrick of Burnsville were named to the ACHA West Division III Hockey All-America teams for men and women announced Friday.
It's the first All-America honor for Blumer and the second for Kilpatrick.
On the 12-player West men's team, St. John's had three All-Americans, all juniors, and Gustavus had one (junior defenseman Keith Detlefsen). SJU honorees were goalie Adam Hanna and defenseman Darryl Smoleroff (first team)and forward Scott Bjorklund (second team). Smoleroff was a first-team selection last season, while Hanna and Bjorklund were second-team selections last year. SJU, St. Norbert and Wis.-Superior led the way with three selections each in 2004-05.
On the women's team, the MIAC had three of the six West recipients -- Kilpatrick and Gustavus' soph Andrea Peterson and senior Laura Stypulkowski. Its the first All-American honor for Stypulkowski and second for Peterson and Kilpatrick.
Blumer, a 2X co-captain and 2X all-conference, finished with 112 career points (45 goals) in 112 games.
Kilpatrick is the lone All-American in the seven-year history of UST women's hockey. She had five shutouts and finished 11-2-2 with a 1.12 GAA and a .947 save percentage this season. Last season, she went 9-3-2 with two shutouts, a 1.71 GAA and a .935 save percentage. On her three-year career, Kilpatrick is 30-9-5 with a 1.71 GAA and a .927 save percentage. In 2004-05 conference play, Kilpatrick (8-1-1) was first in save percentage (.945) and third in GAA (1.10).
