Nate Elmes joined the St. Thomas football staff as a student assistant in March 2024. This is his first season with the Tommies.
Elmes joins the St. Thomas coaching staff after two seasons with the program as a player. A member of the Tommies roster during the 2023 season, Elmes played tight end and was a member of the St. Thomas special teams unit. He was named to the Pioneer Football League (PFL) Academic Honor Roll following the 2023 season. Elmes started his college football career at the University of Minnesota-Duluth before joining the Tommies.
A three-sport athlete, Elmes was a standout athlete at Maple Grove High School, earning honors in football, basketball and track and field. While with the Crimson, Elmes served as team captain and was voted Offensive MVP following his senior season. He additionally earned First Team All-Conference honors and was named to the All-Metro team.
