Mechanical Engineering major… 2014 graduate of Holy Family High, where he was Academic all-state; in football played on two state runner-up teams and one other playoff team; was all-section, all-conference, captain and voted team's Best Blocker and Most Dedicated awards; also competed in track and field… dad, Jon, was Minnesota Gopher standout and played NFL football with Denver, New England and Cincinnati; cousin Rian was All-Big Ten lineman at Minnesota; great uncle Ray played football at Minnesota… son of Beth and Jon Melander.
