Tommies host #2 Ohio State in first WCHA series

ST. PAUL, MINN. – The University of St. Thomas is set to host the WCHA opener against #2 Ohio State on Friday, October 2, at 6:00 p.m. CT and Saturday, October 3, at 2:00 p.m. CT. The games will take place at the Lee & Penny Anderson Arena in St. Paul, Minnesota.
GAMEDAY CENTRAL
TICKETS: Tickets for the weekend series can be purchased on tommiesports.com/tickets. Students can also claim their tickets here. Fans will need to download tickets to their digital wallets in advance, and gates will open one hour prior to puck drop.
REUBEN'S: Fans can enjoy the ambiance at Reuben's, which will open to all ticketed attendees one hour before the puck drops on both days.

KEY STORYLINES:
MILESTONE WATCH: Junior goalie Dani Strom (Dayton, Minn. / Maple Grove) is on the brink of a significant career milestone, needing just one more save to reach 1000 with the program. She will be the first goalie in the DI era to record all 1000 saves with the Purple. Calla Frank recorded her 1000th career save in 2024-25, also against Ohio State.
DEBUT DARLING: Newcomer Kenleigh Fischer (Fargo, N.D. / North) also made a strong debut, recording four points with one goal and three assists last weekend.
SHINING SENIOR: Cara Sajevic (Shoreview, Minn. / Gentry Academy) put together a standout performance in the opening series against New Hampshire, contributing five points with two goals and three assists. Her decisive goal on Saturday led the Tommies to a 3-1 win over the 'Cats, and she also assisted on Friday's game-winner.
GOLDEN GIRLS: The Ohio State Buckeyes' roster features five Olympians from the 2026 Winter Games and two former Tommies, Rylee Bartz and Ella Hause, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the contest.
ALL-TIME RECORD: St. Thomas enters the weekend with a current record of 2-0-0, as does Ohio State. This matchup holds particular interest as the Tommies seek their first victory against the Buckeyes in the DI era, having an all-time series record of 0-24-0.
