Tommies travel to South Carolina, face Presbyterian

ST. PAUL, MINN. – For the first time in forever, the University of St. Thomas is hitting the road. The Tommies will travel down south for an exciting matchup against the Presbyterian Blue Hose. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. CT this Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Bailey Memorial Stadium in Clinton, South Carolina.

LAST TIME OUT:
ST. THOMAS: With a strong start to their season, the Tommies boast a 4-1 overall record and are 1-0 in the Pioneer Football League (PFL). They are coming off a commanding 50-17 victory against San Diego, a team favored to win the league this year. St. Thomas recorded 554 yards of total offense against the Toreros, its first 500+ yard game since October 25, 2025. Gabriel Abel (Trenton, N.J. / Salisbury School) and the Tommies running back core also rushed for over 300 yards for the first time since October 26, 2024. That performance also came against San Diego when former standout Hope Adebayo rushed for 277 yards on his own.
PRESBYTERIAN: The Blue Hose fell to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in PFL play after suffering a 42-7 loss at Marist last weekend. Presbyterian's offense simply had no answer for Sonny Mannino, who led the Red Fox offense with 198 passing yards and two touchdowns. Since opening the season with a 47-37 win over UVA Wise, the Blue Hose are 0-3 in their last three contests, surrendering an average of 54.0 points per game.
KEY STORYLINES:
VETERAN MOVES: St. Thomas is led by head coach Glenn Caruso, who has a notable record of 14-4 in conference openers. The Tommies demonstrated their offensive prowess by scoring 50 points twice in its last three games, including against San Diego on Saturday. Since making the jump to Division I in 2021, St. Thomas has scored at least 50 points against all PFL opponents minus Butler, Drake, and Marist.
SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY: In the team's last meeting in Clinton, St. Thomas secured a victory over Presbyterian after a strong second-half performance. The Tommeis trailed 17-14 at halftime, then outscored the Blue Hose 32-0 in the second half to claim the 46-17 victory. However, the Blue Hose claimed a 23-9 win in the most recent encounter at O'Shaughnessy Stadium.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN: This will be St. Thomas' first road contest since September 5, 2025. The Tommies were upended by #8/9 North Dakota 62-26 in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
