Tommies set to open 2026-27 season on home ice

Tommies and Wildcats faceoff to open 2026-27 season
ST. PAUL, MINN.- After opening up last season with eight games on the road, the St. Thomas Tommies are set to open the 2026-27 season on home ice. The Tommies will face the University of New Hampshire Wildcats Friday, September 25th and Saturday, September 26th. Puck drop is slated for 2 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.

Scouting the Wildcats
The Wildcats finished the 2025-26 season 16-16-3, falling in the Hockey East quarterfinals. UNH returns four of their top six scorers from last season and all three goaltenders.
New Hampshire is led by head coach Hilary Witt who has been at the helm of the program since 2014.
New Year, New Faces
The Tommies welcome nine newcomers to St. Paul ahead of the 2026-27 season. Five transfers, and four freshmen.

Along with the nine players on the ice, the Tommies have added two new staff members this off season. Jason Carter joins the Tommies as an assistant coach after spending three seasons at Darthmouth. Dani Cameranesi Brodzinski joins the program as the Player Development and Scouting Coordinator; she is also continuing her work as a scout for the Minnesota Frost.

The Tommies return four of their top five scorers from last season in Ella Boerger, Chloe Boreen, Madison Brown, and Whitney Horton.
D1 Era Record Holders
Senior captain Ella Boerger holds the Divison one era record for both single season (20) and career assists (44).
Last Season
St. Thomas finished the 2025-26 season with a 12-23-1 record, tallying the most wins in the division one era. Seven of the 12 wins came in WCHA conference play.
Preseason Poll
The Tommies were picked to finish seventh in the WCHA preseason poll. They also finished last season in seventh place.
History with the Wildcats
St. Thomas and UNH have never met on the ice so this series will be the first time these two programs have faced off in history.
