Tommies fall in high scoring battle

Maulik leads offense with two homeruns
ST. PAUL, MINN.- The St. Thomas Tommies fall 18-14 in high scoring battle with the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles. Matthew Maulik led the offense with two home runs.
Scoring Summary
Oral Roberts opened the scoring in the second plating four and took a 4-0 lead. St. Thomas responded immediately in the bottom half of the second. Max Berrisford brought in two with an RBI single, and Zan Von Schlegell caused chaos on a sacrifice bunt that brought in two more.
The Golden Eagles then scored two more in the third off a two-run home run to take a 6-4 lead. Matthew Maulik responded with a solo home run of his own to bring the Tommie within one.
Oral Roberts then hit another two-run home run to take a 8-5 lead over the Tommies.
The Golden Eagles then put up three in the fifth, taking an 11-5 lead. St. Thomas then scored two in the bottom half off an RBI double from Berrisford and and an RBI triple from Nolan Welke.
Oral Roberts then plated four in the sixth, taking a a 15-7 lead. Maulik then hit his second home run of the day to make the score 15-9.
The Tommies continued their comeback by plating 5 in the seventh with RBIs from Bond and Puder and a two-run home run from Tanner Recchio. Oral Roberts followed with putting up three in the eighth and taking a 18-14 lead.
