Tommies fall in battle with the Jayhawks

Recchio tallies three hits to lead the Tommies
LAWRENCE, KANSAS- Tommie baseball falls 4-2 in back-and-forth battle with the Jayhawks. Tanner Recchio led the offense with three hits and scored both runs.
Scoring Summary:
The Tommies struck first in the top of the first after a RBI single from Owen Bond scored Tanner Recchio from second.
Kansas then plated a run in the bottom of the fourth to knot the game at one.
St. Thomas then took a 2-1 lead in the top of the fifth after Matthew Maulik's single scored Recchio once again.
Unfortunately, the Tommie lead didn't last long as the Jayhawks tied the game at two in the bottom half of the fifth.
The Jayhawks then pushed two across in the bottom of the eighth to take a 4-2 lead.
Up Next
The Tommies will be back in action for the three more games against the Jayhawks March 6-8.
