Tommies fall in Colorado finale

Maulik leads offense with 5 RBIs
USAFA COLO.- St. Thomas falls 20-12 to Air Force on Monday afternoon. Matthew Maulik led the way with five RBIs for the Tommies while freshman Terek Verhage was just behind with four.
Scoring Summary:
The Falcons opened up the scoring in the bottom of the second scoring two on a two-run homerun.
Matthew Maulik and the Tommies responded in the top half of the third when Maulik's cleared the bases with a three run double to put the Tommies up 3-2.
Air Force then plated three in the home half of the third to take a 5-2 lead over the Tommies. The Falcons then extended their lead by plating seven in the fourth to take a 12-3 lead.
St. Thomas then plated four of their own in the fifth. Matthew Maulik and Max Berrisford each picked up an RBI, and Terek Verhage tallied two of his own.
The Falcons then responded by plating two in the bottom half of the fifth, taking a 14-7 lead.
The Tommies put up another four spot in the sixth to claw back and make the score 14-11. Verhage picked and Maulik picked up the RBIs once again.
Air Force then put up five in the bottom of the sixth to increase their lead to 19-11. The Falcons then scored another in the seventh, taking a 20-11 lead.
Adam Puder doubled in the eighth to score Berrisford who also doubled, making the score 20-12 Falcons.

The Tommies return to Summit League play March 20-22 at Oral Roberts.
