RV St. Thomas Tommies skate into home-and-home with No. 3 Minnesota

Tommies set to host Field Trip Friday at Lee & Penny Anderson Arena
ST. PAUL, MINN- The (RV) Tommie women's hockey team (12-16-0, 7-15-0) are set for their final home and home series against the No. 3 Minnesota Gophers (23-5-0,17-5-0). Game one of the series on Feb. 6 will be at Lee & Penny Anderson Arena, while game two will be across the river at Mariucci Arena.
Puck drop for game one is slated for 12 p.m. on Friday, February 6th for Field Trip Day at Lee & Penny Anderson Arena. Saturday's game at Mariucci is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Last Time Out
St. Thomas is coming off a historic weekend at Lee & Penny Anderson Arena as they earned their second WCHA sweep of the season, as well as set a new single season win record.
The Tommies sweep over the St. Cloud State Huskies marked the first time they have swept the Huskies in program history.
Game one of the series was a battle that ended in a Tommie victory in overtime. JuliAnna Gazdik and Ella Borger netted goals, while Rylee Bartz scored a powerplay goal in overtime to secure the 3-2 win.
Game two was another 3-2 Tommie victory, this time in regulation. Madison Brown, Rylee Bartz, and Chloe Boreen netted goals for the Purple. Julia Minotti chipped in massives saves late in the third period to secure the victory.
WCHA Honors
The Tommies have received four weekly league honors so far this season. Rylee Bartz leads the way with two forwards of the week honors.

WCHA Leader Board
As a team, the Purple sits first in penalty minutes per game with the lowest in the league at 5:04, third in faceoff winning percentage at .558, blocked shots with a 12.89 per game average.
Individually, Rylee Bartz is third overall in face-off wins/total face-offs with 332 wins out of 563.
Ellah Hause is second in the league in blocked with 51 and Haley Maxwell is just behind in third with 50. Jenessa Gazdik is fourth with 49.
DI Era Record Holders
Rylee Bartz now holds the single season goal record with 15 in the season as she surpassed Ella Boerger's previous record with 11.
Boerger has also surpassed the single season assists record of 13 that she and Bartz previously held. Ella now has 16 assists on the season and is now the sole single season assists leader.
Rylee Bartz (66), Ella Boerger (62), and Madison Brown (53) make up the top three in career points.
Ella Boerger (40), and Rylee Bartz (33), round out the top two in D1 era assists.
Rylee Bartz leads the Tommie offense with 33 career goals in the D1 era.
Scouting the Gophers
The No.3 Minnesota Golden Gophers hold a 23-5-0 overall record and 17-5-0 in WCHA play. Most recently the Gophers are coming off a series split with the No. 1 Wisconsin Badgers. Minnesota took game one 3-2 in overtime, before falling 6-1 in game two.
Minnesota has four members of their squad competing in the 2026 Olympic games, including leading goal scorer Abbey Murphy and assist leader Josefin Bouveng.
As a team, the Gophers average 5.4 goals per game and lead the WCHA in shot percentage at .130.
History with the Gophers
The Tommies have yet to defeat the Gophers as they are 0-22 all-time. Most recently, St. Thomas fell 5-3 and 4-1 back in December 2025 when these two teams met for the first time this season.
